Gold vermeil is sterling silver jewelry with a thick gold coating, it is less expensive than solid gold jewelry but looks the same. The sterling silver is covered in a layer of 14k gold that must be at least 1.5 microns. Scosha’s vermeil pieces are covered much thicker at 3 microns of gold.
